Many accidents that we see in California are preventable. There are several actions that continually contribute to fatal pedestrian accidents in California. These include:

  • Speeding motorists: Without a doubt, traveling at too high of a speed can make it difficult for drivers to avoid striking pedestrians who cross the roadway. It can also increase the chances of drivers losing control of their vehicles and going off the road.
  • Failing to yield: When drivers fail to yield to pedestrians in crosswalks and in various locations, it can lead to fatal accidents.
  • Intersection accidents: It is incredibly common for drivers to turn quickly at intersections without checking for pedestrians. Unfortunately, this often leads to severe and fatal consequences for the involved pedestrians.
