Fatal Car Accidents in California
More than 3,800 people lost their lives as a result of vehicle accidents in the state of California in 2021. The majority of these accidents can be traced back to some type of recklessness or careless actions by drivers.
There are many factors that contribute to fatal car accidents in our state. Distracted driving is one of the most significant problems. Driving while distracted is especially risky since it redirects a motorist’s attention away from the roadway and makes it more difficult for the driver to respond appropriately to potential dangers.
Driving under the influence of alcohol is another major contributor to deadly car accidents. Drivers who have been drinking have poor judgment and slower reflexes, both of which increase the likelihood that they will be involved in an accident. In addition, they may have trouble staying in their lane or turning correctly at intersections.
Speeding is also a major cause of deadly car accidents. When drivers go beyond the speed limit that is stated or drive too quickly for the road conditions, they significantly increase their chances of losing control of their car and becoming involved in an accident.
Every year, a rising number of people are killed on the roads in California as a result of the combination of all of these contributing causes.
