Car Accidents in California
Every day, hundreds of people across California are injured in motor vehicle accidents. Quite often, these accidents are preventable. We see people hurt daily as a result of speeding motorists, drivers who are impaired, and drivers who operate their vehicles while texting on the phone or talking to others. Any negligent action can cause a serious accident that leaves victims with life-altering injuries. Should you be unfortunate enough to experience the aftermath of a devastating car accident, it is important that you reach out to a car accident lawyer immediately.
After being injured in a crash, you may be able to file a legal claim for compensation. In order to recover, you will need to prove negligence. Proving negligence in your personal injury claim entails demonstrating that the defendant owed you a duty of care. After showing that the driver should have been operating their vehicle in a careful manner that is considerate to others, you must then prove that they failed to do so. This is called showing a breach of duty. After proving the breach, you must be able to demonstrate that the breach is the cause of the crash and that you have suffered injuries and damages as a result.
