Dorris, CA (February 17, 2023) – A passenger died after being involved in a two-vehicle crash in the Dorris area on Wednesday, February 15.
The fatal accident took place on US-97 at around 5:30 a.m. and reportedly involved a pickup truck and a semi. It was reported that 52-year-old Dawson Yang of Milwaukee, Wisconsin traveling south when he veered into oncoming traffic and collided with the rig. Yang’s passenger was ejected in the crash and they were pronounced dead at the scene.
Yang was transported to Sky Lakes Medical Center in Klamath Falls for treatment of sustained injuries. The driver of the rig was examined by emergency personnel but was not hospitalized. Yang was cited for driving under the influence of alcohol.
An ongoing investigation into the cause of the deadly collision is underway.
