Walnut Creek, CA – All Lanes Closed Due to Fatal Crash at I-680 & Geary Rd

Walnut Creek, CA (February 17, 2023) – On Thursday, February 16, a deadly car accident in Walnut Creek closed all the lanes on Interstate 680. 

The fatal accident was reported at around 4:30 a.m. just north of Greary Road. At least one person involved in the crash was killed, but it is currently unknown how many people were involved in the accident. All lanes were temporarily closed, and it was later reported that two lanes had reopened as of 5:20 a.m. 

The identity of the deceased parties has not been revealed at this time. 

An ongoing investigation into the cause of the deadly accident is in progress.
