California Hit-&-Run Accidents
A hit-and-run accident is one in which at least one party leaves the scene without assisting those who are injured. Around 5% of traffic deaths involve pedestrians, who are commonly hurt in hit-and-run accidents. Nearly 20% of pedestrian crash fatalities are related to drivers who fled the scene, and hit-and-run accidents are rising nationwide on average by 7.2% every year. Because they are unable to prosecute the responsible person, pedestrians are more at risk.
