Bakersfield, CA (February 21, 2023) – The California Highway Patrol confirmed that a driver lost their life as a result of a motor vehicle accident that occurred on Monday morning in Bakersfield.
Calls for help were received on February 20 regarding an automobile accident on Highway 99.
According to reports, a woman was driving a 2003 Nissan Sentra north on Highway 99. The vehicle, which was possibly traveling at a high rate of speed, made an unsafe turning movement near Highway 166. As a result, the vehicle became involved in a collision.
The vehicle overturned on the side of the roadway.
Two people suffered injuries as a result of the accident. One person was transported to Kern Medical for emergency treatment. The second victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The California Highway Patrol is currently investigating the accident.
