Fatal Pedestrian Accidents in California
Fatal pedestrian accidents are reported every day in the United States. These accidents take the lives of thousands of people annually across our country. Losing a loved one suddenly and unexpectedly can be incredibly difficult to deal with. Unfortunately, we see countless people lose their lives as a result of negligent drivers here in California.
After the loss of a loved one, your family has the ability to pursue legal action against the person who is responsible. In order to recover compensation for the damages you face, such as funeral costs and medical expenses, you will need to prove negligence existed at the time of the accident. This can be done by showing that the driver was engaging in various acts of negligence, including:
- Driving while texting or talking on the phone.
- Failing to yield the right-of-way.
- Running a stop sign or passing a red light.
- Driving while too tired to operate their vehicle.
- Driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
After proving that the driver was negligent, you must be able to prove the damages that you have suffered. Working with a skilled wrongful death lawyer in Fresno can provide your family with the best chance of proving negligence in the accident and prevailing.
As you focus on moving forward in the grieving process, your attorney will be busy building your case and fighting for justice on your behalf. Your attorney will investigate the accident, gather evidence against the defendant, and demand fair compensation for all of your damages.
