San Diego, CA (February 24, 2023) – Area paramedics were dispatched to provide assistance at the scene of an accident that occurred early Thursday morning in the San Diego area.
On February 23, just before 8:30 a.m., the California Highway Patrol was summoned to provide assistance at the scene of a motor vehicle collision on Interstate 15, Tony Gwynn Memorial Freeway.
According to law enforcement, a silver Ford Mustang and a red Tesla collided on the HOV lanes of the freeway in the area near the Ted Williams Freeway. The two vehicles blocked lanes number one and two of the roadway, prompting officials to secure the scene of the accident to prevent further injuries or damages.
Injuries were confirmed as a result of the accident. Local paramedics were called to care for the victims and transport them to area hospitals.
The circumstances surrounding the crash are being investigated by the California Highway Patrol at this time.
