Bakersfield, CA – Injuries Reported in SR-99 Accident near Hosking Rd

Bakersfield, CA (February 25, 2023) – A motor vehicle accident involving a hit-and-run driver was reported on Friday afternoon in the Bakersfield area that left at least one of the involved parties injured.

At approximately 2:30 p.m., the California Highway Patrol was notified that their assistance was needed on-site at a crush on state Route 99.

Preliminary reports show that a white Ford Fusion and a black Lincoln sedan were involved in an accident on the north side of the highway. Authorities responded to the scene of the accident and blocked off multiple lanes near Hosking Road.

At least one vehicle involved in the accident fled the scene without stopping. The crash resulted in injuries. Emergency medical services responded to care for those harmed and to provide them with transportation to local hospitals.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating to determine what caused the crash.
