Bakersfield, CA (February 26, 2023) – At least one person was transported to a local hospital for the treatment of injuries following a car crash that took place on Saturday afternoon in Bakersfield.

The California Highway Patrol troopers were notified at approximately 3:15 p.m. on February 25, that their assistance was needed on-site at a motor vehicle accident on State Route 99.

Reports provided by CHP show that a black Nissan Altima and a white Chevrolet Cruze collided on the southbound side of the highway just south of 7th Standard Road.

Authorities arrived at the scene and located both of the vehicles with significant damage and blocking the third lane of travel. A gray GMC pickup truck was also located at the scene with damage.

Emergency crews went to work quickly on removing the damaged vehicles. Multiple tow trucks responded to the scene to provide assistance with the removal process.

Paramedics tended to the injured victims on-site before transporting them to local hospitals.

The circumstances surrounding the accident are being investigated at this time.
