Chico, CA (February 27, 2023) – The California Highway Patrol was notified that their assistance was needed at the scene of a major motor vehicle accident that took place in the Chico area that left at least one person with injuries.
The accident was reported at approximately 2:40 p.m. on February 26.
According to CHP reports, a Honda CRV and a gray Jeep Cherokee collided on California State Route 32. Authorities responded to the scene and blocked off the roadway near Fitzgerald Drive.
The incident prompted officials to close off multiple lanes as they worked to remove the damaged vehicles and debris. Trucks from both All-Star Towing and North Valley towing responded to take the two vehicles from the travel lanes.
Emergency medical services were notified that their assistance was needed. At least one person was transported to a local hospital for medical care.
The California Highway Patrol is actively investigating the incident.
