Contra Costa, CA (February 27, 2023) – At 220 p.m. on February 26, troopers with the California Highway Patrol were requested at the scene of a major motor vehicle accident involving multiple vehicles that ended in injuries at around 2:20 p.m.
According to officials, a gray Ford F150 pickup truck, a Volkswagen Jetta, and a third unknown vehicle collided on the westbound side of California State Route 24 during the afternoon hours. The incident caused the airbags in one vehicle to deploy. The incident prompted officials to block off lane three and lane four of travel on the westbound side of the road just east of Acalanes Road.
Tow trucks were requested at the scene to remove all three of the damaged vehicles. The vehicles were towed away from the scene as the police worked to remove the debris from several lanes of travel.
Emergency medical services were dispatched to provide assistance to the victims. An unknown number of injured parties were transported by ambulances to area hospitals for further medical care.
The California Highway Patrol is currently investigating the accident.
