Eureka, CA (February 26, 2023) – One person was transported to a local hospital for the treatment of injuries following a major motor vehicle accident that took place in Eureka on Wednesday afternoon, February 22.
Just after 12:00 p.m., the Humboldt Bay Fire Department and police responded to provide assistance at the scene of a major accident that occurred on Wabash Avenue. Emergency officials blocked off multiple lanes of the road as they provided assistance.
Authorities determined that two vehicles collided on Wabash Avenue at the intersection of a street in Eureka during the afternoon hours. The impact of the crash sent one vehicle plowing into a nearby building.
Paramedics were dispatched to the scene of the accident to care for the injured victim. One person was located with moderate injuries and treated at the scene. The victim was then rushed to an area hospital for further care.
