Los Angeles, CA (February 26, 2023) – The California Highway Patrol confirmed that one person has died as a result of a motor vehicle accident that occurred on Saturday morning in the Sherman Oaks section of Los Angeles.
At approximately 1:13 a.m. on February 25, authorities were called to provide assistance at the scene of an automobile collision on 101 Freeway.
Preliminary reports show the two vehicles collided on the westbound side of the freeway during the early morning hours. Authorities arrived at the scene and located two damaged vehicles near Coldwater Canyon Avenue.
The police and firefighters immediately worked to secure the area to prevent further damage. Injuries and delays were reported at the accident site. At least one person was fatally injured in the crash. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Injured parties were treated by medical personnel. Those who required further assistance were transported to local hospitals.
The circumstances surrounding the accident are currently being investigated.
