Oakland, CA (February 26, 2023) – Just before 5:15 a.m. on February 25, the California Highway Patrol was dispatched to provide assistance at the scene of a fatal multi-vehicle accident that took place in the Oakland area.
According to official reports, multiple vehicles collided on the 80 Freeway during the early morning hours. California Highway Patrol arrived at the scene and located damaged vehicles blocking multiple lanes of travel on the highway near San Pablo Dam Road. Two of the vehicles overturned.
Emergency officials immediately lopped off the road as they worked to clear the scene.
One person was fatally injured in the crash. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
An unknown number of people were injured and transported to area hospitals.
