Oakland, CA (February 27, 2023) – Two vehicles collided in the Oakland area early Sunday evening, leaving at least one person injured. Troopers with the California Highway Patrol were notified at approximately 4:10 on February 26 that they were needed at the scene of an automobile accident that took place on Interstate 880.
Reports provided by authorities show that a Mercedes sedan and a black Chevrolet Tahoe collided on the northbound side of the interstate. The incident prompted authorities to block off multiple lanes of the roadway in the area near the off-ramp for 5th Avenue.
The involved vehicles were left with moderate damage in the crash. Tow trucks were requested from ATCO Tow & Recovery to remove the damaged vehicles.
One ambulance was dispatched to the scene of the accident. Paramedics rendered medical care to all of the injured parties while at the scene. Those who required further medical care were then transported to local hospitals.
Authorities remained at the scene extensively as they worked to clear the road and conduct an investigation. The investigations into the crash are ongoing.
