Oceanside, CA (February 27, 2023) – The California Highway Patrol confirmed that one person has lost their life after being struck by a vehicle while changing their tire on State Route 78 on Sunday morning.
At around 10:00 a.m., the California Highway Patrol was notified that they were needed at the scene of an accident on California State Route 78. Preliminary reports show that a vehicle was stopped on the side of the highway. One person was attempting to change a tire on the car when they were struck by a vehicle that was passing through the area.
The pedestrian was severely hurt as a result of the crash. Emergency medical services rushed to the site of the accident to provide care for the victim.
However, the pedestrian ended up passing away as a result of the injuries that they suffered.
The California Highway Patrol is currently investigating the accident to determine what caused it to take place.
