Contra Costa, CA (March 1, 2023) – A motor vehicle accident took place in the Contra Costa area on Monday afternoon that prompted the response of the California Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred just after 4:50 p.m. on February 27.
Reports from the CHP troopers show that a Kia forte and a Ford F2 50 pickup truck collided on refinery Road near San Pablo Avenue.
Firefighters and California Highway Patrol troopers rushed to the scene of the accident and secured the road.
Authorities located one person who was caught in their vehicle. Firefighters quickly moved to extricate the victim.
Once removed from the vehicle, firefighters requested an air ambulance to transport the victim. However, the helicopter was canceled, and the victim was rushed to John Muir Health Walnut Creek Medical Center by ambulance for emergency care.
The crash remains under investigation by authorities at this time.
