San Jose, CA (March 2, 2023) – At 5:45 p.m. on March 1, troopers with the California Highway Patrol responded to the scene of a major multi-vehicle accident that took place in the San Jose area.
Preliminary reports show that a blue Saturn, a BMW, and four other vehicles collided on the northbound side of California State Route 87. The incident prompted officials to close off a large portion of the road near the Interstate 280/State Route 87 N Connector.
A person inside the Saturn was injured. The victim was provided care at the scene and transported to a local hospital.
Several tow trucks were requested at the scene to remove the damaged vehicles from the road.
The California Highway Patrol initiated an investigation into the crash to determine the cause. The crash investigations are currently ongoing.
