Car Accidents in California
A car crash can forever change your life. Suffering from severe injuries can alter your ability to work, prevent you from enjoying activities, and have a devastating impact on your emotional and physical health and well-being. Unfortunately, tens of thousands of people in California are forced to deal with the overwhelming consequences of serious accidents every year.
Accidents caused by drivers who are irresponsible and reckless occur all too frequently, and they frequently result in the severe injury or death of innocent people. In our state, some of the most common contributors to vehicle accidents are as follows:
- Impairment: when drivers are under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or other intoxicants, it is more possible that they will lose control of their vehicle and crash into others. Impairment can cause drivers to make irresponsible decisions while behind the wheel. This can have devastating consequences on others sharing the road.
- Distractions: we see far too many car crashes on California roads take place as a result of motorists who are texting on their phones, eating food, or engaging in other distracting actions while operating their vehicles. When drivers are distracted, they are less likely to see other vehicles, traffic control devices, and other important cues in the area.
- Failing to yield: when drivers fail to yield the right-of-way to others, they are likely to crash into the vehicles and cause severe harm.
Any act of negligence can have severe consequences for others. If you have been harmed as a result of an accident, a Ventura car accident lawyer can help you better understand your rights moving forward.
