Fields Landing, CA (March 2, 2023) – A crash was reported in Humboldt County on Tuesday afternoon that left two people injured. At approximately 12:25 p.m. on February 28, troopers with the California Highway Patrol responded to a car crash that occurred on Highway 101.
Authorities confirm that at least ten vehicles collided on the southbound side of the highway. The incident blocked off multiple lanes in the area.
California Highway Patrol troopers closed off a portion of the road near Tompkins Hill Road as they worked to clear the scene and remove the damaged vehicles. Multiple tow trucks responded to the scene to provide assistance.
Two people suffered significant injuries in the crash. The victims were rendered aid briefly at the scene and transported to local hospitals by ambulance.
The incident remains under investigation.
