Car Accidents in California
Serious car accidents are reported in the state of California. Many of these accidents result in injuries for those involved. It is an unfortunate reality that we see hundreds of people hospitalized daily with serious injuries due to automobile collisions.
In many cases, victims suffer from severe injuries that impact their ability to work and simply perform various tasks. Regrettably, the majority of accidents take place due to driver negligence. Some of the leading factors in car accidents we see include:
- Distractions: Statistics show that six out of every ten drivers in California say that they have either been involved in an accident or nearly been involved in an accident due to drivers who have been distracted while behind the wheel. Approximately 74.3% of Californians identify distracted driving as their biggest concern when it comes to traffic safety.
- Impairment: Approximately 10% of fatal accidents reported in California involved drivers who were under the influence of alcohol. Unfortunately, impairment leads to thousands of accidents resulting in serious injuries in our state every year.
- Running red lights: Approximately 30% of fatal accidents involve drivers who run red lights or disregard traffic safety devices at intersections. Regrettably, running red lights and passing stop signs and intersections can result in severe injury accidents.
