Oakland, CA (March 4, 2023) – The California Highway Patrol troopers out of Oakland were called to provide assistance at the scene of a two-vehicle accident that took place on Thursday morning, March 2.
At approximately 5:30 a.m., two vehicles, including a green minivan, were involved in a collision on the 80 Freeway. The incident blocked the westbound side of the road near the off-ramp for Powell Street.
Troopers assisted local firefighters at the scene, securing the area. Firefighters requested the assistance of tow companies to remove the damaged vehicles from the road.
At least one person suffered injuries as a result of the crash. Paramedics responded to the scene to care for the victims and transport them to local hospitals.
Investigations into the cause of the crash are currently underway.
