Taft, CA (March 3, 2023) – On Thursday morning, March 2, near Taft in Kern County, there was a head-on incident that resulted in at least one person being injured.
According to the information provided on the California Highway Patrol Traffic Incident Information Portal, the collision took place in the vicinity of Harrison Street and State Route 119.
It is not known what caused the head-on collision that involved a semi-truck and another vehicle. In the aftermath of the collision, the second vehicle caught fire.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene of the accident to provide assistance. Firefighters battled the blaze as medical personnel rendered aid to the victims who suffered injuries. At least one person was transported to a local hospital for further medical care.
The California Highway Patrol troopers are currently investigating the incident.
