Barstow, CA (March 7, 2023) – An automobile accident took place in the Barstow area on Sunday afternoon that claimed the lives of two people. The accident was reported to the California Highway Patrol at approximately 1:45 p.m. on March 5.
According to officials, a silver sedan and a maroon sedan collided head-on while traveling on the northbound side of US Highway 395. Both vehicles were severely damaged and had to be towed from the scene.
Injuries were confirmed as a result of the accident. Victims became trapped inside the vehicle and had to be extricated by firefighters.
The victims were rendered aid while at the scene. Authorities confirmed that two people died as a result of their injuries. The third victim was transported by medical helicopter to a local hospital for emergency care.
At this time, California Highway Patrol troopers are investigating.
