Poway, CA (March 7, 2023) – According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, there was a collision involving many vehicles that took place in Poway on Saturday evening. The incident resulted in the injuries of two people.
At around 11:12 p.m. on March 5, the collision occurred on State Highway 67.
On State Route 67, a woman in her twenties was reportedly behind the wheel of a 2008 Mercedes-Benz sedan when she veered into the northbound lanes and drove the wrong way uphill.
After that, the sedan rolled back into the street and ended up landing on top of a Volkswagen GTI from 2017 that a 27-year-old man was driving.
One driver was sent to Sharp Memorial Hospital after sustaining injuries that were considered to be life-threatening.
The other driver sustained injuries and was sent to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido for treatment.
Alcohol use is suspected of having contributed to the accident, according to the authorities.
The incident remains under investigation at this time.
