San Diego, CA (March 7, 2023) – A head-on collision took place in San Diego’s Chollas View area on Sunday afternoon that claimed one person’s life.
The accident was reported at around 1:00 p.m. on March 5.
According to officials, a westbound 1993 Nissan Maxima sedan was traveling down Market Street when it went into the opposite lane of travel and crashed into a 2018 Lexus RX 350 SUV head-on. Authorities arrived at the scene and blocked off the roadway near 47th Street while assisting.
A 63-year-old man involved in the accident was severely injured. He was rushed to a local hospital for emergency care. The police confirmed that he passed away after arriving.
Another person suffered injuries in the accident and had to be transported to a local hospital.
The circumstances surrounding the accident are being investigated.
