San Diego, CA (March 7, 2023) – Two people were transported to area hospitals following a car crash that took place on Sunday evening in San Diego.
At approximately 6:24 p.m. on March 5, the California Highway Patrol was notified that they were needed to provide assistance at the scene of a motor vehicle accident that occurred on Interstate 5.
Preliminary reports show that a BMW and a tow truck collided on the southbound side of the freeway. The incident prompted Highway Patrol and firefighters to close off multiple lanes near Sea World Drive.
Two people suffered injuries due to the accident. The victims were transported to the University of California San Diego Medical Center for emergency care.
The circumstances surrounding the accident are being investigated by California Highway Patrol. However, authorities believe intoxication played a role in the accident.
