Car Accidents in California
Every day, people are hurt as a result of motor vehicle accidents here in California. Far too many crashes reported in our state are caused by drivers who are reckless and negligent. There are various types of negligent actions that lead to crashes taking place far more often than others. Some of the most common include:
- Speeding: Speeding is one of the most common factors identified in motor vehicle accidents in California. Drivers who are traveling too fast for road conditions, weather, or in unfamiliar areas are more likely to lose control of their vehicle and crash into others.
- Failing to yield: When drivers are entering lanes of travel that are occupied by other motorists, it is important that they yield the right-of-way. Regrettably, when drivers fail to do so, they cause serious accidents that leave innocent people harmed.
- Run red lights: When approaching intersections, it is critically important that drivers stop when they have red lights. Unfortunately, running red lights is one of the leading causes of accidents at busy intersections across our state. Due to the fact that approximately 50 percent of all accidents statewide occur at intersections, it is safe to assume that this action leads to a lot of them taking place.
If you have been hurt due to a car crash that was caused by the reckless or negligent actions of another motorist, you may be able to pursue legal action against them to ensure they are held accountable. A legal team can help you better understand your rights moving forward and take the actions necessary to protect them.
