Car Accidents in California
The aftermath of a motor vehicle accident can be incredibly challenging to deal with. This is especially true in cases where victims are harmed in accidents due to the negligent actions of others. In California, victims are able to pursue legal action to hold the negligent driver accountable. A personal injury claim can provide you with financial relief for the damages that you face. This can include:
- Loss of enjoyment of life: victims who had to go through extensive medical treatment and take time off work to recover often deal with significant emotional and mental distress. For this reason, victims are entitled to recover compensation for the loss of enjoyment of life that is caused by their accident.
- Pain and suffering: when victims are left with incredibly painful injuries, they can seek financial compensation to alleviate some of the impacts that they face due to the extent of care that they need and the impact that their injuries have had on their life. This award is based on the extent of suffering a victim has endured due to their accident.
- Lost earning capacity: if you have been left permanently disabled as a result of your accident, a personal injury claim can help you recover financial compensation for your lost earning capacity. This is based on the amount of money you will lose for the rest of your life due to being rendered disabled.
