Car Accidents in California

These reports found that nearly 1 out of every ten car chases by the LAPD resulted in injuries to civilians.

A grand jury later determined that both the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and the Los Angeles Police Department need to improve the training that they provide for their patrol officers who engage in active pursuits. Unfortunately, even after the study was published, we continue to see innocent people harmed as a result of vehicles fleeing from the police.

These accidents are often devastating for a variety of reasons. One of the most disheartening facts about these accidents is that they are incredibly preventable. Suspects fleeing the police due to engaging in actions that could be considered criminal take the lives of everyone else at risk.

Unfortunately, these accidents often take place at high speeds, which increases the severity of injuries that victims who are involved suffer. Being involved in a speeding crash can result in significant spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, and other injuries that could be considered life-threatening or life-altering.

When victims are injured as a result of motor vehicle accidents, it is crucial that they are able to protect their legal rights. Filing a personal injury claim against the responsible party can help to provide victims with the financial relief that they need during this very difficult time.
