Car Accidents in California
Every day, innocent people have their lives changed completely as a result of motor vehicle accidents in the state of California. Quite often, innocent people are forced to do with painful physical and emotional injuries. Spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, compound fractures, and other serious injuries completely disrupt the lives of victims. Many victims are left permanently disabled following their accidents and unable to return to work ever again.
In California, when people are injured as a result of motor vehicle accidents, they often have to deal with significant financial consequences as well. Not being able to work, having tens of thousands of dollars in medical expenses, and paying the price to repair or replace a vehicle can be incredibly difficult to do. For this reason, victims are able to pursue legal action against the person who causes them harm.
In California, if a person contributed to the accident taking place, the amount of money that they can recover for their damages will be reduced in proportion to the amount of fault that they contributed to the accident. This is due to the fact that damages for car crash victims are awarded based on comparative negligence. For this reason, insurance companies will do whatever they can to minimize the fault of their client and shift the fault back onto you in order to pay you the smallest amount possible. Trying to maximize your recovery can be incredibly difficult if you have never been in the situation before.
