Oakland, CA (March 14, 2023) – A multi-vehicle accident took place in the Oakland area on Monday evening that ended in injury. Just before 4:15 p.m. on March 13, California Highway Patrol troopers were called to the scene of a crash on Interstate 80.
Reports from authorities indicate that a white Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, a black Acura, and a white Chevrolet Cruze collided on the eastbound side of the interstate. The crash prompted the California Highway Patrol troopers to close the freeway just east of Potrero Avenue.
The incident caused some delays in the area as emergency crews worked to clear the scene. Tow trucks were requested to remove the vehicles that were unable to be driven from the crash site.
Injuries were reported in this accident. Emergency medical services responded to care for injured victims and transported them to local hospitals.
The incident remains under investigation.
