Car Accidents in California

Los Angeles, CA – Crash with Injuries Reported at E Florence Ave & Avalon BlvdLife-changing vehicle accidents take place daily in California. There are countless instances where people who are involved in these collisions are forced to undergo immediate medical attention. Having to be hospitalized, go through surgery, and even spend weeks in recovery can be incredibly difficult. In severe cases, such as when victims suffer spinal cord injuries or traumatic brain injuries, they may require months of therapy and rehabilitation.

Dealing with the aftermath of a vehicle collision can be challenging for both victims and their families. Unfortunately, hundreds of thousands of accidents are reported in California annually, leaving victims with devastating injuries.

When victims are harmed in accidents due to the reckless actions of other drivers, they can file personal injury claims to seek compensation for some of the losses and damages that they face. Following an accident, a personal injury lawsuit can help you get the money you need for medical expenses, loss of enjoyment of life, lost earning capacity, and a variety of other damages.

In California, compensation for damages that victims suffer are awarded based on the laws of comparative negligence. In California, this doctrine provides that the amount of damages that a defendant causes for a victim can be recovered from the at-fault party. However, if a petitioner contributed to the accident in any way, the amount of compensation they are able to recover will be reduced to reflect the percentage of fault that they contributed to the accident. For this reason, it is important that you have the strongest evidence possible against the defendant in order to maximize your recovery.
