Pedestrian Accidents in California
It is truly undeniable that pedestrians are more vulnerable during collisions than most other people. Unlike other parties involved in vehicle collisions, pedestrians do not have anything to protect them. We have no still cases around them to provide them with protection. They do not have helmets to provide them with protection. Instead, they are left completely vulnerable to the impact and the force of a motor vehicle. As a result, victims involved in pedestrian accidents are more likely to suffer severe injuries. Some of the most common injuries reported in these accidents include:
- Trauma to the head: trauma to the head can be incredibly debilitating. Regrettably, we see many pedestrians left with traumatic brain injuries, fractures to the school, and other head trauma that is painful and disabling.
- Internal organ injuries: victims who suffer from spleen ruptures, punctures to the lungs, bruises to the kidneys, and even internal bleeding require emergency care. When victims do not undergo treatment immediately after their accidents, the consequences can be fatal.
- Cuts and lacerations: these painful injuries can lead to permanent scarring and disfigurements. Regrettably, we see many people suffer damage to their muscles and nerves as a result of severe cuts and lacerations from automobile accidents.
These and other serious injuries can be incredibly difficult to overcome. Regrettably, victims often have to go through significant medical treatment for the injuries they suffered in motor vehicle accidents. When pedestrians are harmed as a result of negligent and reckless motorists, they are often able to pursue legal action. After a car accident, a personal injury claim can provide victims with the financial resources that they need and deserve.
