Fatal Car Accidents in California
Fatal collisions are the cause of thousands of deaths in California each year. The majority of these accidents are a result of negligent drivers. When motorists enter roadways without the intention of being responsible and careful, they can cause accidents that take the lives of innocent people sharing the road. The unfortunate truth is that many accidents take place due to this specific reason. Acts of negligence continue to contribute to more than 85% of collisions reported across the country. Here in California, we see a significant number of people lose their lives in accidents as a result of speeding motorists, drivers who fail to yield, drivers who run red lights, and those who engage in other acts of negligence.
The loss of a loved one can happen suddenly and unexpectedly. In most cases, families struggle to move forward. It is nearly impossible to prepare for the loss of a loved one. Accepting their loss, knowing that it was caused by the negligence of another driver, can be nearly impossible. If your loved one has died as a result of a driver’s careless or reckless actions, it is only right that your family takes legal action against the responsible driver.
In California, families who lose loved ones are able to seek compensation for various damages by filing a wrongful death claim. This legal action can provide your family with monetary compensation for some of the losses and damages that you face. This includes compensation to cover the funeral and burial expenses, alleviate the impact of lost earnings, cover lost benefits, and more. Having the strongest evidence in your case can help to ensure that you are better positioned to defend your rights against the responsible party and get justice.
