On the morning of October 18, a person was struck and killed by a car in a Redondo Beach pedestrian accident, according to officials.
The fatal accident occurred about 11:40 a.m. at Torrance Boulevard and Francisca Avenue. An elderly woman was traveling west on Torrance Boulevard in a white sedan when, for unknown reasons, her vehicle veered off the road and onto the sidewalk, striking the victim. The sedan then crashed into a low wall and flipped onto its roof.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was transported to a hospital with unknown injuries.
“At this time, an investigation is underway,” said a representative of Wilshire Law Firm. “We express our condolences to the victim’s loved ones and hope that they find justice.”
