Early July 11, two men were killed in a Pico Rivera head-on crash, according to authorities.
The fatal collision occurred about 4 a.m. A male in his early 20s was heading southbound on Paramount Boulevard near Dunlap Crossing Road in a Cadillac when he swerved into oncoming traffic and struck a northbound Honda head-on.
Both vehicles were destroyed beyond recognition.
Both the driver and passenger in the Honda were killed in the crash. Investigators identified the driver as Javier Gonzalez, 64, of Huntington Park, and the passenger as Rodrigo Mendez, 59, of Los Angeles.
Investigators have not yet identified the Cadillac driver, but they did say that he sustained an amputation injury.
“The cause of this tragic incident has still not been determined, although alcohol is suspected to be a contributing factor,” said a representative of Wilshire Law Firm.
