On the night of July 12, two female teenagers were killed in a Fortuna hit-and-run crash, according to officials.
The fatal collision occurred about 9:15 p.m. on Eel River Drive south of Kenmar. The two 14-year-old girls were riding their skateboards when they were hit by a Jeep. The driver fled the scene.
One of the girls was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other died later at Oakland Children’s Hospital.
Police are seeking a silver Jeep Wrangler with a black wrap-around bumper and a possible broken headlight.
“At this time, the investigation is still ongoing. We hope that the police locate and identify the driver so they can be brought to justice,” said a representative of Wilshire Law Firm.
