Just before midnight on September 27, three people were taken to the hospital after a head-on crash in Friant, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The car accident occurred at the intersection of Friant Road and Millerton Road. A female driver struck a minivan, causing both vehicles to lose control.
The male driver of the van was airlifted to the hospital with a possibly fractured leg. His passenger, a woman, and the female driver of the other vehicle were also taken to the hospital after complaining of pain.
Investigators believe the female driver was under the influence at the time of the crash. She was on her way to Table Mountain Casino.
“This crash could’ve been a lot worse, so it is fortunate that no one was killed,” said a representative of Wilshire Law Firm. “Driving under the influence never leads to anything good.”
