3 Valley View High Students Killed in Crash near LAX

3 valley view high students killed in accident
On July 30, three students and graduates of Valley View High School in Moreno Valley were killed in a crash near LAX, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) said.

Among the fatal victims were the driver, Aldo Noe Acosta Verdin, 19, of Moreno Valley, and two female passengers whose identities were not immediately revealed.

A third passenger, Devin Armani Thomas, 19, also of Moreno Valley, was transported to an area hospital with major injuries.

According a family relative of Thomas, they were on their way to the beach when the tragic car accident occurred at around 7:50 a.m.

Investigators believe that Verdin was speeding on the collector road that connects to southbound 405 near Century Boulevard when he failed to navigate a curse. The 2008 Toyota Scion XB he was driving proceeded to go off the road, down a dirt embankment, and into a concrete column.

“At this time, the investigation is still ongoing,” said a representative of Wilshire Law Firm. “Anyone with additional info is encouraged to report to the CHP’s West Los Angeles Office.”
