On the evening of October 29, four people were injured – two critically – in a car accident at a major intersection in an unincorporated part of Brentwood, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The two-vehicle crash occurred about 5:20 p.m. on Walnut Boulevard at Concord Avenue. Two people were taken by helicopter to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek in critical condition. Two others were transported by ambulance to nearby hospitals with minor to moderate injuries.
Both vehicles were heavily damaged in the crash. Emergency responders had to extricate one of the four victims in a cut-and-rescue operation.
At this time, the investigation is still ongoing.
