Elderly Woman Killed in Lubbock Collision with Trailer Hitch
According to Lubbock police, an elderly California woman was killed on the afternoon of June 8 when a trailer hitch crashed through the front windshield of her car.
The deadly crash occurred about 5:00 p.m. close to South Loop 289 and Utica Avenue. Investigators believe the victim, 81-year-old Dorothy Martin, was driving west in the 4400 block of South Loop 289 at the time of the incident. She was pronounced dead at University Medical Center.
The driver of the trailer, 81-year-old William Martin, was not injured.
Both involved drivers were from Porterville.
The investigation is still ongoing. Any witnesses of the fatal auto accident are encouraged to come forward and report to the Lubbock police.
