Leona Valley Woman Killed in Highway 126 Truck Accident
On the morning of July 5, a woman was killed in a Highway 126 tractor trailer crash east of Fillmore.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), a vehicle was traveling east on Highway 126 when a big rig pulled out into their path from a farm road, causing a collision. The front passenger side of the vehicle took the brunt of the impact and partially collapsed.
Audrey Gutman, 52, of Leona Valley, was sitting in the front passenger seat without a seat belt on at the time of the incident. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle, Richard Gutman, 53, also of Leona Valley, and another passenger, Thomas Belsheim, 53, of Canoga Park, sustained minor injuries that did not require hospitalization.
The truck’s driver, Pedro Santiagolemus, 26, of Arvin, was not injured.
At this time, the investigation is still ongoing.
