Man in Critical Condition After Ventura DUI Crash
On the afternoon of August 10, a man sustained critical injuries after a Ventura head-on accident involving a suspected drunk driver, according to authorities.
The alleged drunk driving accident occurred about 1:05 p.m. on Bristol Road east of Ermine Avenue.
An SUV was heading west on Bristol when it rear-ended another vehicle, causing that vehicle to lose control and strike a railroad crossing gate. The SUV also lost control and veered into the wrong side of the road, colliding head-on with a sedan.
The 56-year-old male driver of the sedan was taken to an area hospital in critical condition.
The driver of the SUV, Nicole Sanchez, 35, of Ventura, was taken to the same hospital with moderate injuries. There, she was arrested on suspicion of felony driving under the influence of alcohol.
None of the occupants of the rear-ended vehicle were injured.
“Another day, another drunk driving accident – this is getting to be too much,” said a representative of Wilshire Law Firm. “This lawless, negligent and ultimately dangerous behavior has got to stop.”
