rancho mirage bicycle accident
On the morning of July 6, a 79-year-old Palm Desert man was injured in a Rancho Mirage bicycle accident involving a Riverside County Sheriff’s Department employee.

Officials said that the bicycle crash occurred at about 7:50 a.m. on Frank Sinatra Drive at Thompson Road.

The victim was traveling west on a Trek bicycle when a Community Service Officer driving east in a marked 2011 Ford Crown Victoria turned north without yielding into the bicyclist’s path, causing a collision.

The bicyclist sustained moderate injuries and was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center.

“The collision is currently under investigation,” said a representative of Wilshire Law Firm.
