On the morning of July 7, a man was struck and killed by a FedEx driver along Interstate 5 north of the junction with Highway 99, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
Prior to the fatal FedEx accident, two men were standing outside of a vehicle parked on the shoulder of the freeway. One was the driver of the vehicle, who had run out of gas, and the other was a Good Samaritan who brought gas to the stranded motorist.
At about 5 a.m., a FedEx driver, for reasons yet known, drifted onto the shoulder and struck the two men. One was pronounced dead at the scene. The other sustained serious leg injuries.
“Officials are in the process of investigating this tragic crash,” said a representative of Wilshire Law Firm.
