On the early morning of June 9, a rollover crash at an Interstate Highway 80 off-ramp in Albany resulted in the death of one man, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
Officials said that the involved vehicle, a black Mitsubishi GT, crashed about 1 a.m. close to Buchanan Street and ended up on its roof.
The driver was taken to an Oakland hospital, where he later died.
Investigators are still determining why the driver lost control after entering the off-ramp.
The car was traveling west when, for a reason yet to be determined, the driver lost control and left the north side of the roadway. The vehicle struck the metal guard rail and rolled down an embankment before landing on the off-ramp, Wilkenfeld said.
More details are pending, including the identity of the driver.
