The accident happened at 2 a.m. at the intersection of SR-78 and Broadway, according to Escondido police Lt. Mike Kearney.
Authorities said the DUI suspect, 33-year-old Jose Uriostegui, crashed his Ford F-150 truck into a Nissan Altima.
A witness stated that Uriostegui attempted to flee the scene:
Uriostegui attempted to escape after the crash but was subdued by two Good Samaritans.
